  • OCS is pleased to offer the following after school enrichment classes

    One Application Per Student

     Class Schedules:

    • 1st session begins 8/17/26 and ends 10/22/26, * Class start date may very please see class schedule below. Enrollment window will be begin 07/17/26 until classes fill up.

    Class Prodecures:

    TK-3rd Grade: Students will be escorted to their enrichment classes by their class teacher or assistant. 

    4th-8th Grade: Students will find their way to their enrichment classes after dismissal. 


    Students will be escorted to the front gate at the end of theie enrichment class. Parents may walk up or use the valet lane and ask the supervisor on duty with a walkie-talkie to call their child. 

    We discourage early pick up from Enrichments as it is a huge disruption in the lesson plan. 

     

    Classes Offered, Class Description, Schedule & Cost per Month:

     Enrollment Fee is $50.00 (one time-non refundable) per year per family. All classes are on a first-come, first-serve bases.

    Rhythm & Beat (Tk - K): Mondays 2:10pm - 2:40pm (30min class) *EARLY CLASS*

    Cost: Session: 1 - 7 classes, Price: $154

    Teacher: by Concorde Education

    Description: Students will explore rhythm through fun hands-on activities using a variety of percussion instruments. They'll learn to keep a steady beat, play simple rhythms, and express themselves through music while building confidence, coordination, listening skills, and teamwork.

    Cost: Session: 1 - 7 classes, Price: $210

    Crafting Cirle (2 - 3): Mondays 2:50pm - 3:50pm (1hr class)

    Cost: Session 1 - 7 classes $224 (Materials Included)

    Description:Join us for Crafting Circle featuring seasonal craft, handwork, and art projects.  Each week we will be working on a small handmade project using natural materials. Creating with their hands helps children build confidence through practical achievements, patience, creativity, and self-expression.

    Maggie Ward is an Artist with a Masters in Fine Art from New York University and is currently finishing her Waldorf Handwork teacher training.

    Description: It’s the perfect time to cozy up with the flavors of Fall. Enjoy these delicious no “cook” recipes: Loaded Autumn Turkey Sandwich, Fall Fruit Salad, No Bake Pumpkin Delight, and more! Students Learn everyday knife and math skills as they explore the culture and nutrient components of each recipe. All nut free. Vegetarian options.

    Description: This fun and engaging yoga class introduces students to basic yoga poses, breathing techniques, and mindfulness. Through movement and relaxation, students will build flexibility, balance, and confidence while learning simple ways to calm their minds and bodies. All skill levels are welcome!

     

    Jewelry Making Studio (1st - 3rd): Tuesday 2:45pm - 3:30pm (45min class)

    Cost: Session 1-10 classes $260

    Teacher: Parker Anderson

    Description: Make your own jewelry in a hands-on introduction to this exciting and creative art form. Students make professional-looking beaded jewelry using a variety of materials. Among the items created are earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pins, and rings.

     

    Art of Japan (2nd - 3rd): Tuesday 2:50pm - 3:50pm (1hr class)

    Cost: Session 1-10 classes $320

    Teacher: Yuko Sensei

    Description: This hands-on class invites students to explore the beauty and traditions of Japan through art, crafts, games, music, and cultural activities. Students will experience calligraphy, origami, seasonal crafts, traditional games, and simple Japanese words and expressions while building creativity, curiosity, and an appreciation for Japanese culture.

     

    Percussion (4th - 8th): Tuesdays 3:20pm - 4:20pm (1hr class)

    Cost: Session 1-10 classes $320

    Teacher: Mr. Rivers

    Description: The Enrichment Percussion is for students who have the desire to learn drumming or want to get ahead in terms of joining the peace player program in the future. Students will learn basic and rudimentary rhythms and ideas of respect for the culture and the instrument. It is a class is beginners and intermediate combined; no previous drumming or music training is required.

    Chess:Thinking Moves (Tk - K): Wednesdays 12:10pm - 12:50pm (30 min class) *EARLY CLASS*

    Description: Can young children really learn chess? You bet they can! In Thinking Moves, young learners are introduced to chess through songs, games, movement, stories, and fun, age-appropriate activities. Students practice thinking ahead, making a plan, problem-solving, and building confidence—all while discovering the joy of chess!

    Description: Little Makers studio is focused on simple arts and crafts projects for younger hands. Using natural materials and traditional processes, students will create beautiful pieces of decorative and functional art. Projects may include (as time permits): Weaving with yarn and natural materials, sunprinting on fabric and paper, clay sculpting + painting, paper marbling, block printing, and more!

     

    Fun & Games Lab (1st - 3rd): Wednesdays 12:30pm - 1:15pm (45 min class)

    Cost: Session 1-10 classes $260

    Description: Welcome to the Fun & Games Lab! Students will explore a fun mix of board games, card games, dice games, and active group games while building strategy, teamwork, problem-solving, and good sportsmanship. From classic favorites to new challenges, each class gives students opportunities to think, move, communicate, and play together in a fun and inclusive environment.

     

    Dance-Salsa Class (2nd - 3rd): Wednesdays 12:30pm - 1:30pm (1hr class)

    Cost: Session 1-10 classes $320

    Teacher: Ms. Tanya York

    Description: This will be a dance mashup class in a happy, welcoming, and challenging environment. Each day, students will warm-up, strengthen their bodies, and move to music. Choreography will change from jazz to hip-hop to contemporary to salsa or a mix of them all.

     

    Textile Class (4th - 5th): Wednesday 12:45pm - 1:45pm

    Cost: Session 1-10 classes $310

    Teacher: Ms. Maggie Ward

    Description: Weaving, macrame, fabric collage, quilting and wet felting are some of the exciting projects we will do together in Textile Art class.
    Maggie Ward is an Artist with a Masters in Fine Art from New York University and is a certified Waldorf Handwork teacher.

    Happy Feet (Tk - K): Thursdays 2:10pm - 2:40pm (30min class) *EARLY CLASS*

    Cost: Session 1-10 classes $220

    Teacher: Hoebel Fitness

    Description: Combines easy to follow salsa steps with dance-inspired fitness moves to keep kids moving, grooving and having fun, because what’s more fun than dancing?! Children will learn the basics of salsa and partner dancing, gain self-confidence, and enjoy interacting with other kids. New skills, footwork and dance combinations are covered every season, so whether it’s your child’s first time or if they are returning, they will have fun in our Salsa Happy Feet program!

    Description: Students learn how to make figurines, mosaics, multi-media sculptures, and more while they learn about famous sculptors like Jeffrey Koons, Kenneth Price, and Walter Furlan! We teach the principles of sculpture and allow students to explore with various media. Come join the fun!

     

    Japanese Cooking (2nd - 3rd): Thursday 2:50pm - 3:30pm (45min class) *No Class on 10/22*

    Cost: Session 1- 9 classes $288

    Teacher: Yuko Sensei

    Description: Join Yuko Sensei for a fun and delicious Japanese cooking class! Students will prepare simple Japanese dishes while learning basic cooking skills and exploring Japanese food culture. Come cook, taste, and enjoy Japanese recipes with Yuko Sensei!

  • Emergency Contacts
    In case of emergency, if the school is not able to get a hold of the student's parents/guardians; the school will use the emergency contacts and information provided by the parents/guardians during the student's school registration. If you need to make any updates regarding the emergency contacts or information, please email registrar@oceancs.org.

    Medical Release
    In case of injury or sudden illness, I hereby give authority to any hospital or doctor to render immediate aid as might be required to ensure my child’s health and safety. I understand that the expense of this service will be my responsibility. The undersigned, legal custodian of   *   *    a minor, hereby authorizes the Ocean staff or designee, into whose care the aforementioned minor pupil has been entrusted, to consent to call an ambulance to transport my child to a hospital or medical facility and to any x-ray, examination, anesthetic, medical or surgical diagnosis treatment, and/or hospital care to be rendered to said minor upon the advice of any licensed physician and/or dentist. It is understood that this authorization is given in advanced any required diagnosis, treatment, or hospital care which a licensed physician or dentist my deem necessary. This authorization is given through the provisions of Section 25.8 of the California Civil Code and shall remain effective for the full school year unless revoked in writing and delivered to said agent(s). It is understood that Ocean Charter School, its officers and its employees assume no liability of any nature in relation to the transportation of the said minor. It is further understood that the costs of paramedic transportation, hospitalization and any examination, x-ray, or treatment provided in relation to the authorization shall be home by the undersigned.
